Does the AI in Coule train on user data?
No. We're using the ChatGPT API in order to do stuff like Brain Dump, analyze email for actionable tasks and so forth, but the ChatGPT API does not train on input data. (This is different than if you fire up a chat in the ChatGPT web interface.)
Do you keep task data after a task is finished?
This is up to you. In settings there is something called Completed Task Retention. This is the window of time task data is retained after the task is completed or dropped. By default, it's one day, but you can reduce it to delete immediately if you want. Once the task is deleted, it is gone. It cannot be un-deleted. (A task that has been completed or dropped but not deleted yet can be found via the Inactive Tasks button).
If I hook up my Gmail account, can you send or modify emails?
No. When you connect Coule to your Gmail you grant us something called gmail.readonly scope with Google. This means you've granted us permission to read the email, but that's it. We can't send, delete, modify or take any other action on your email other than read it.
Are you storing my emails then?
If Coule infers that there's a potential task in your email, it will store the contents of that email in an encrypted field with the potential task, in order to provide you with context for that task. Once you accept it, reject it or the potential tasak expires, the original email text is deleted from our database. (Again, we don't touch the original email in Gmail – we can't, we don't have permission).
If I hook up my calendar to Coule, can you write to it?
Again no. What you are providing to us is a read-only calendar feed. We can't modify it in any way.
